3D anaglyph images (Goth)
(Tec talk here, exhibition plans and gossip bellow) Photographs made with a pair
of cyber-shot digital cameras linked togethor with a box called a 'LANC shepherd' so
that both cameras take their photo's at the same time. Both the cameras are mounted
onto the same side so one camera is upside down and both cameras are on their side.
Due to the nature of sliding the images horizontaly to get the best seporation this
makes sideway clearence the bigest issue. Having the cameras mounted on their side,
back to back makes for a more compact and easesr to manage setup than having them both
taking a normal landscape photo because the design of the camera dose not alow the
cameras to be close enought togethor meaning that we had to construct a bulky frame
to get one of the cameras mounted upsidedown thus getting the camera lenses close
enought togethor to get the right seporatin. Horizontaly or verticaly getting enought
of the image captured is always an issue with the solution being to get a wide angle
adapter for the camera, since the lenses are not the removable type on these cameras.
This is a first on many fronts for me, it is the first 3d exhibition, the first
totally peopled exhibition and the first where I haven't used any of my old pictures.
My aim now is to expand on the story picture aspect of the exhibition to create evocative
and challenging environment in the style of magic realism, I intend to avoid the cliché
of tacky by going past taste into a world where taste has no meaning and the arcytyple
language of dreams takes over. I'm going to do magic realism nude. A mixture of .
A sci-fi synthesis of the ancient and futuristic.
